Bay Home & Window Factory Direct Shutter Source has announced that it will expand its wholesale outlet sales operation to a greater portion of the Bay Area on a limited basis. The Pleasanton based company had previously been a wholesale outlet to the interior design and builder industries and opened its doors to direct residential sales in the East Bay in 1993. Bay Home & Window specializes in providing exceptionally high quality interior window shutters and installation to Bay Area builders, interior designers and home owners at a remarkably low price point. You will find both their design and installation staff extremely knowledgeable and experienced.
The Company is offering several lines of custom shutters and is making some of their top quality lines available on a direct-to-home-owner basis for the first time in many parts of the Bay Area. Previously, most premium lines were predominantly available only through interior designers and design centers, leaving only the lower end available for direct purchase by the individual consumers at full retail prices. Bay Home & Window has made a name for themselves within the designer community as the only Northern California wholesale supplier of the benchmark WindWood™ line, one of the true pinnacles of the shutter industry. They also carry some of the more moderately priced wood lines as well as synthetics designed for more specialized uses in the lower end market.
Plantation shutters are available in a myriad of different designs but it is the wider louvered “Plantation” style that has established the strongest foothold in the current remodeling explosion taking place in the Bay Area. Finding its place also in the new construction market, shutters have been appearing in most of the higher end model home displays over the last several years.
Bay Home & Window has played a significant role in this phenomenon as the company has grown by over four hundred percent over the last three years. This expansion has made Bay Home & Window one of the industry’s largest suppliers in California and plans are under way to move into other markets.
Company president, Jeff Falcon, left the corporate world as the region manager for a national “home oriented” department store in 1993 to rejoin with his family roots of over 20 years in the shutter industry. Jeff brought with him the fundamental principle of Total Quality Management (a business philosophy centering around the concept of complete commitment to the consumer and quality) and applied it to all facets of the operation. Jeff credits T.Q.M. for a large portion of the company’s success, and his management staff has become disciples of its doctrine. They do have a designer show room and the public is welcome, however, they stress that an appointment is usually required because their design staff operates predominately at customer job sites.
